Newcastle will be holding the 35th annual Burning Mountain Festival this year the third weekend of July. Last year had over 1,000 attendees for the event.

Festival actually starts the weekend before the music, with events including a parade, youth pageant, art show, craft booths, classic car show, beer garden, library book sale, music and kids' activities. The Hogback Hustle attracts runners and walkers from across the area.
